It checks the XML structure and the values declared in each sitemap entry. - Well-formed XML and the sitemap namespace - Absolute HTTP or HTTPS URLs - W3C lastmod dates - Supported changefreq and priority values - Duplicate URL entries - File size and entry limits It does not request every page or confirm indexing. Check live URL status and coverage in Google Search Console. ## Sitemap limits One sitemap can hold 50,000 URLs and must stay under 50MB uncompressed. Use a sitemap index when a site outgrows either limit. - `loc` is required and must be an absolute URL. - `lastmod` is optional. Include it only when the date is accurate. - `changefreq` and `priority` are optional hints. ## Need to generate a sitemap?
