## What this validator checks

This checker reads Schema.org markup from a public URL or pasted JSON-LD. It reports syntax errors and missing common properties.

- **Markup found:** pasted JSON-LD, or JSON-LD and Microdata in fetched HTML
- **Issues found:** Parse errors and missing common properties
- **Before publishing:** Confirm eligibility with Google's Rich Results Test

## Which check should you use?

- **This validator:** a quick review of your page markup or pasted JSON-LD.
- **Google Rich Results Test:** the final check for Google search feature eligibility.
- **Schema.org Validator:** broader vocabulary and syntax debugging.

## Common schema problems

- **Missing `@type`:** name the Schema.org type for every node.
- **Missing properties:** open the affected node to see which fields this checker expected.
- **Invalid dates:** use an ISO 8601 date or full timestamp.
- **Relative URLs:** use complete URLs for fields such as `url`, `image`, and `sameAs`.

## Using Schema.org with Nuxt

The Nuxt Schema.org module builds JSON-LD from typed helpers:

```
<script setup>
// npm install @nuxtjs/schema-org
useSchemaOrg([
  defineArticle({
    headline: 'My Article Title',
    author: 'John Doe',
    datePublished: new Date('2024-01-15'),
    image: '/og-image.jpg'
  })
])
  </script>
```

## Common questions

<details>

<summary>What is a schema markup validator?</summary>

A schema markup validator extracts structured data from a page and reports syntax or property issues. This checker reads JSON-LD and Microdata, then compares recognized types with common rich-result requirements.

</details>

<details>

<summary>How do I test my schema markup?</summary>

Enter a page URL or paste JSON-LD, then choose Check schema. Review errors and missing properties. Confirm Google eligibility with the Rich Results Test before shipping.

</details>

<details>

<summary>What's the difference between this and Google's Rich Results Test?</summary>

Google's Rich Results Test is the authority for Google eligibility. This checker extracts Schema.org markup and reports property coverage for the rich-result types it recognizes. Use Google's test before relying on a production result.

</details>

</details>

<details>

<summary>Which schema types support rich results?</summary>

Google supports a changing subset of Schema.org types, each with its own required and recommended properties. Check Google Search Central's current structured data gallery for the supported features and requirements.
